PUBLISHING, PRINTING, AND MAILING OF A MONTHLY NEWSLETTER TO OVER 4000 MEMBERS AND AVAILABLE TO PUBLIC IN HARD COPY OR ON WEBSITE. ANNUAL "RESOURCE BOOK" WAS PUBLISHED AND DISTRIBUTED AT THE ANNUAL DINNER. THE CARAVAN FOR LIFE CONTINUED FOR THE 2ND YEAR. THE ORGANIZATION HAS CONTINUED DISPLAYING BILLBOARDS IN THE DETROIT METRO AREA, PROMOTING RESPECT FOR LIFE. THREE NEW FAITH COMMUNITIES PARTICIPATED IN DISPLAY OF 2000 CROSSES IN AWARENESS OF CHILDREN LOST.
OPERATION OF THREE OFFICES, OPEN DAILY FOR OUR MEMBERSHIP AND PUBLIC. THE MAIN OFFICE HOUSES THE "WEE CARE" PROGRAM THAT FURNISHES CLOTHING, SUPPLIES FOR NEWBORNS, AND EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS FOR MOTHERS. WE SERVED OVER 400 NEEDY FAMILIES WITH MATERIALS AND IF NEEDED, REFERRALS TO SOCIAL AGENCIES. OUR WEE CARE PROGRAM SPONSORED OVER THIRTY (30) BABY SHOWERS, HELD AT FAITH COMMUNITIES; AND AS A ONE-TIME EXPENDITURE DONATIONS WERE MADE TO OVER FIFTEEN (15) PREGNANCY HELP CENTERS AT $2000 EACH; AS THESE CENTERS SUFFERED DISRUPTION AND VIOLENCE OR NEEDED SECURITY AS A RESULT OF THE SUPREME COURT DOBBS DECISION. THERE IS A YOUTH DIRECTOR AT OUR CHAPTER OFFICE WHO PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL EMAILS AND CONDUCTS EVENTS FOR STUDENT GROUPS.
THE ANNUAL MARCH FOR LIFE IN WASHINGTON, D.C., IS OPEN TO ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN THE TRI-COUNTY AREA. OUR YOUTH DIRECTOR FACILITATES THIS EVENT BY SECURING CHARTER BUSES, FOOD AND LODGING, FOR STUDENTS WHO REGISTER WITH US. THIS IS UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF VOLUNTEER CHAPERONES. THE EXPENSES REPORTED INCLUDE A REFUND OF OVER $10,000 FROM THE CHARTER BUS COMPANY FOR BUSES CANCELLED IN THE PRIOR YEAR.
