QUALITY OF LIFE PROGRAM- ASSISTS ITS MEMBERS WHO ARE MAINLY IN THE GREATER HOUSTON AREA IN AREAS SUCH AS ACCESS TO HEALTH SERVICES, MOBILITY, COMMUNICATION, HOUSING AND FAMILY SUPPORT. IN 2021 WE TRAINED 50 INDIVIDUALS ON COMPLETING FOOD ASSISTANCE APPLICATIONS, HOW TO USE TECHNOLOGY LIKE ZOOM. WE ALSO PROVIDED INDIVIDUALS MONTHLY TRANSPORTATION TICKETS TOTALING 440 TICKETS PER MONTH. PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO OVER 600 FAMILIES WITH MEDICAL SUPPLIES AND DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT. WE ASSISTED 25 INDIVIUALS WITH COMPLETING THEIR HARRIS HEALTH MEDICAL CARD.
EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FUND- DIRECT CASH ASSISTANCE FOR MEMBERS WHO ARE MAINLY IN THE GREATER HOUSTON AREA FOR HELP WITH DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AND RECOVERY, AND EMERGENCY PAYMENT OF RENT, CAR, REPAIRS, AND UTILITY BILLS. 2021 INCLUDED FOOD ASSISTANCE TO 120 FAMILIES TWICE A MONTH, OVER 1,500 WELLNESS CALLS AND ASSISTANCE TO OVER 100 FAMIIES WITH EMERGENCY STIPENDS. WE ALSO PROVIDED $166,700 IN DISASTER GRANTS FOR COVID RELIEF AND WINTER STORM URI, AS WELL AS PROVIDING $10,000 IN EMERGENCY GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS.
