THE SHELTER OF HOPE'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE TEMPORARY, EMERGENCY SHELTER AND PERMANENT HOUSING ASSISTANCE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN NEED OF TRANSITIONAL SERVICES LEADING THEM TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY. PROVISIONS ARE MADE WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION BECAUSE OF AGE, RACE, COLOR, CREED, RELIGION, SEX, HANDICAP, NATIONAL ORIGIN, FAMILY STATUS, MARITAL STATUS, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, OR GENDER IDENTITY. THE SHELTER OF HOPE SERVES BOYD, CARTER, GREENUP, ELLIOTT, AND LAWRENCE COUNTIES IN KENTUCKY.

THE SHELTER OF HOPE PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES AND VETERANS WHO ARE HOMELESS OR AT RISK OF BEING HOMELESS: SHORT-TERM TEMPORARY EMERGENCY HOUSING (10 FULLY FURNISHED APARTMENTS) RESIDENTS RECEIVE ASSISTANCE FROM AN IN-HOUSE PANTRY, HOUSEHOLD FURNISHINGS, PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS & CLEANING SUPPLIES TBRA (TENANT BASED RENTAL ASSISTANCE) SUPPLEMENTS AN INDIVIDUAL'S RENT (UP TO A MAXIMUM OF TWO YEARS) UNTIL THEIR SECTION 8 (HUD) VOUCHERS ARE APPROVED RAPID RE-HOUSING - ASSISTS DEFINED HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES TO LOCATE HOUSING AND DEPOSIT ASSISTANCE, IF NEEDED PREVENTION PROGRAM - ASSISTS AT-RISK INDIVIDUALS WITH CASEWORK, HOUSING REFERRALS AND OTHER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AS NEEDED COLLABORATION/REFERRALS WITH OTHER SOCIAL AGENCIES
