ASSAM FOUNDATION OF NORTH AMERICA ENCOURAGES AND FACILITATES ORGANIZATIONAL AND INDIVIDUAL EFFORTS TO FURTHER MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING AND COOPERATION BETWEEN ASSAM AND NORTH AMERICA. ASSAM IS A STATE IN THE NORTH-EASTERN PART OF INDIA. 2021 COVID 19 RELIEF WAS THE BIGGEST EVER RELIEF CAMPAIGN AND FUNDRAISING IN AFNA'S HISTORY TO CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS THE FIGHT AGAINST THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC IN ASSAM AS WELL AS IN THE US. WITH THE HELP OF RVC SENEH AND AKSHAR FOUNDATION AFNA PROVIDED SUPPORT AND CARE IN ASSAM. IN THE US AFNAS CONTRIBUTIONS WERE MADE THROUGH WELL-KNOWN RELIEF ORGANIZATIONS NAMELY CALIFORNIA FIREFIGHTERS FOUNDATION OREGON VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS FOUNDATION AMERICAN RED CROSS FOR WASHINGTON FIRES AND FEEDING AMERICA FOODBANKS.
AFNA AWARDED 40 NEW SCHOLARSHIPS TO THE DESERVING CANDIDATES. THIS IS AN INCREASE FROM THE 30 WE HAVE AWARDED EVERY YEAR SINCE ITS INCEPTION. AMONG THE 40 STUDENTS 22 OF THE AWARDEES ARE PURSUING STEM COURSES AND THE REMAINING ARE FROM NON-STEM STREAMS. THE HIGHLIGHT WAS THAT 24 OF THESE WINNERS ARE GIRLS. THE NUMBER OF RECIPIENTS FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP THAT ARE BEING SUPPORTED FOR 2020-21 IS AT 75 CURRENTLY.
