WE PARTICIPATED IN SEVERAL EVENTS DURING FARM CITY WEEK. FARM CITY WEEK IS A NATIONAL EVENT WHERE THE PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN RURUAL AND URBAN COMMUNITIES ARE RECOGNIZED. THESE PARTNERSHIPS AR WHAT ALLOW US TO HAVE AN ABUNDANT, SAFE FOOD SUPPLY IN OUR COMMUNITIES. THIS YEAR WE HAD A BREAKFAST TO HELP PROMOTE AND EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON HOW AGRICULTURE IMPACTS OUR COMMUNITY.
MINI GRANTS WERE AWARDED TO SEVERAL TEACHERS WHO INCORPORATED AGRICULTURAL RELATED LESSONS TO THEIR CURRICULUM. THESE GRANTS HAVE ASSISTED LOCAL SCHOOLS WITH AGRICULTURAL PROJECTS.
FOOD CHECK OUT WEEK HAS BECOME A TIME OF YEAR WHEN AGRICULTURALIST REACH OUT TO CONSUMERS TO HELP THEM LEARN ABOUT TODAY'S AGRICULTURE. FOCUS IS MADE ON HEALTHY LIVING AND BUYING LOCALLY GROWN. THIS ACTIVITY ALLOWS US TO REACH OUT TO THE COMMUNITY AND WORK TOWARDS THE BETTERMENT OF THOSE ENGAGED IN AGRICULTURE.
