THE ORGANIZATION IS THE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION OF THE LAKELAND FLYING TIGERS, A MINOR LEAGUE FARM TEAM OF THE DETROIT TIGERS. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO LOCAL NOT-FOR-PROFITS IN THE GREATER LAKELAND AND POLK COUNTY AREA BY SUPPORTING PROGRAMS OFFERED BY COMMUNITY-BASED NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING LITTLE LEAGUE TEAMS. THE FOUNDATION HOLDS BASEBALL CAMPS FOR AREA YOUTH, SPONSORS EXHIBITION GAMES, AND ORGANIZES AN EDUCATION DAY PROGRAM TO TEACH CHILDREN ABOUT THE GAME OF BASEBALL. THE FOUNDATION ALSO DONATES TICKETS TO SCHOOL CHILDREN TO GIVE THEM THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND BASEBALL GAMES.
