THE ORGANIZATION IS WORKING ON RESEARCH, ACQUISITION AND PRESERVATION OF THE MULTI-FACETED HISTORY OF THE MARCO ISLAND-GOODLAND REGION IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA,THROUGH THE USE OF A CURATOR AND COLLECTION MANAGER AND THROUGH THE CURATION OF RELEVANT ARTIFACT LOANS FROM MUSEUMS AND ORGANIZATIONS. COLLECTIONS ARE SHARED WITH THE PUBLIC THROUGH THE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF INFORMATIVE MUSEUM EXHIBITS - BOTH PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY.
THE ORGANIZATION INFORMS THE COMMUNITY AND VISITORS TO THE AREA OF THE HISTORY AND HERITAGE OF THE MARCO ISLAND-GOODLAND REGION IN SOUTHWEST FLORIDA USING A SERIES OF EDUCATIONAL SPEAKERS AND COMMUNITY EVENTS, BY SPONSORING HISTORIC RE-ENACTMENTS AND BOOK/NEWLETTER PUBLICATIONS,AND THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF YOUTH ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS. THE ORGANIZATION MANAGES THE OPERATIONS OF ROSE HISTORY AUDITORIUM AS A VENUE FOR THESE EVENTS AND MAKES THE AUDITORIUM AVAILABLE TO THE COMMUNITY FOR A MODEST RENTAL FEE.
