PRESENTED 10 LECTURES ON VARIOUS INTERNATIONAL TOPICS WITH LECTURES LASTING ABOUT 45 MINUTES, FOLLOWED BY A QUESTION AND ANSWER PERIOD FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES. LECTURES RETURNED TO IN PERSON THIS YEAR. MEMBERS COULD ATTEND IN PERSON OR VIA ZOOM. RECORDINGS OF THE LECTURES WERE PROVIDED ON OURWEBSITE.
SPONSORED A THREE-DAY MODEL UNITED NATIONS CONFERENCE FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO TAKE ON A ROLE REPRESENTING SPECIFIC COUNTRIES. THE 2022 MUN WAS HELD IN MARCH 2022 AT FGCU, WITH APPROXIMATELY 300 STUDENTS PARTICIPATING. NCWA ORGANIZES THE EVENT AND PROVIDES ABOUT 70 VOLUNTEERS TO JUDGE THE SESSIONS, READ, AND JUDGE POSITION PAPERS AND CARRY OUT OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES. THE TOP STUDENTS ARE AWARDED CASH AWARDS RANGING FROM $300 TO $6,000.
SPONSORED GREAT DECISIONS DISCUSSION GROUPS WITH GROUPS OF 25 TO 30 PEOPLE MEETING TO DISCUSS INTERNATIONAL ISSUES. THE DISCUSSION GROUPS ARE BASED ON READING MATERIALS DISTRIBUTED BY THE FOREIGN POLICY ASSOCIATION. THE GROUP MEETS FOR 8 SESSIONS AND IS LED BY A VOLUNTEER GROUP LEADER.
