BY PROVIDING RENT-FREE HOUSING, SOUTHERN SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION, DRAMATICALLY REDUCES THE COST OF LIVING, THUS INCREASING THE LIKELIHOOD THAT LOW INCOME STUDENTS WILL COMPLETE THEIR DEGREES. THROUGH COOPERATIVE LIVING, RESIDENTS MANAGE HOUSEHOLD BUDGETS, ENFORCE RULES DESIGNED TO SUPPORT A CLEAN, SAFE ENVIRONMENT; AND THEY COOK MEALS AND EAT TOGETHER. RESIDENTS HAVE A HOME, A COMMUNITY, AND A SUPPORT NETWORK FROM THE FIRST DAY THEY ENTER THEIR HOUSES. SSF OPERATES 26 HOUSES AND SERVES 470 STUDENTS IN GAINESVILLE, FT. MYERS, AND TALLAHASSEE, FL.
