THE TALLAHASSEE MUSEUM INSPIRES PEOPLE TO TRANSFORM THEIR LIVES, COMMUNITY AND THE WORLD THROUGH AN ENHANCED UNDERSTANDING OF OUR REGION'S NATURAL AND CULTURAL ENVIRONMENTS.

THE TALLAHASSEE MUSEUM IS A REGIONAL MUSEUM OF HISTORY AND NATURAL SCIENCE CONSISTING OF 52 ACRES AND 24 HISTORICAL AND CONTEMPORARY BUILDINGS. THE SITE INCLUDES PERMANENT AND TEMPORARY EXHIBITS AND FACILITIES FOR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND PRESENTATIONS, SPECIAL EVENTS AND SUPPORT SERVICES. THE MUSEUM SERVES APPROXIMATELY 108,326 PEOPLE ANNUALLY WITH 105,454 VISITORS ON-SITE AND 2,872 THROUGH ITS OUTREACH PROGRAMS.
THE MUSEUM MAINTAINS EXHIBITS AND COLLECTIONS IN THE MUSEUM AND ON THE GROUNDS. THESE INCLUDE A LIVING COLLECTION OF NATIVE ANIMALS EXHIBITED IN NATURAL HABITAT ENCLOSURES, CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL EXHIBITS.
THE MUSEUM ALSO RUNS SUMMER NATURE AND HISTORY CAMP PROGRAMS, EARLY CHILDHOOD/PRESCHOOL CLASSES AND NUMEROUS OTHER EDUCATIONAL DEMONSTRATIONS, PRESENTATIONS, CLASSES,AND TOURS DURING THE YEAR. OVER 6,493 PEOPLE PARTICIPATE IN APPROXIMATELY 195 PROGRAMS PRESENTED BY THE MUSEUM EACH YEAR.
