CENTRAL MIDLANDS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (HEREINAFTER "CMDC") WAS ESTABLISHED AS A SOUTH CAROLINA CORPORATION ON MAY 17, 1982 "TO FURTHER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL WELFARE OF THE CENTRAL MIDLANDS BY FOSTERING INCREASED EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE CITIZENS OF THE AREA.

Part 3 - Line 4a

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: SUPPORTED LOCAL FOOD SYSTEM, ARTS, AND SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT BY HELPING TO FACILITATE THE ANNUAL RICHLAND COUNTY AGRICULTURE AND ART TOUR. SUPPORTED 2020 CENSUS OUTREACH EFFORTS AND FOOD INSECURITY INITIATIVES WITHIN THE HISPANIC COMMUNITY. THIS PROGRAM SERVED/REACHED APPROXIMATELY 140 FAMILIES AND 400 INDIVIDUALS.


ELDERLY SERVICES: PROVIDED SUPPLEMENTAL SENIOR MEALS AND OTHER SENIOR SUPPORT SERVICES ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS.


TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT: WORKED WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENT PARTNERS AND PRIVATE SECTOR COMMUNITY LEADERS TO FACILITATE DEVELOPMENT OF REGIONAL GATEWAY BEAUTIFICATION EFFORTS ON MAJOR THOROUGHFARES AROUND COLUMBIA.
