THE TAX COMMISSIONERS' TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL OF GEORGIA, INC (TCTECH) PROVIDES A FORUM FOR TAX COMMISSIONERS TO SHARE INFORMATION REGARDING TECHNOLOGY-RELATED ISSUES THAT WILL ULTIMATELY ENHANCE SERVICE TO THE TAXPAYERS OF GEORGIA. THE BOARD IS COMPOSED OF THE TAX COMMISSIONERS FROM THE FOUR LARGEST COUNTIES IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA AND FIVE ADDITIONAL DIRECTORS. THE SHARING OF INFORMATION IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH ITS WEBSITE, ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND OTHER MEETINGS HELD THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. IN OCTOBER 15 2020, TCTECH HELD ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE AT THE WESTIN IN JEKYLL ISLAND, GEORGIA. PRESENTATION TOPICS ON FIRST DAY INCLUDED: CASH MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUES, LEGISLATION AND TAX COMMISSIONERS, NEXT GENERATION PAYMENT AND TAX COLLECTIONS, CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS AND BEST PRACTICES DURING COVID-19. THE SECOND DAY PRESENTATION TOPICS INCLUDED: CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICERS &THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS; WEB PRESENCE AND SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS; TECHNOLOGY IN NEW DISTANCE WORLD AND DEPT OF REVENUE TINY HOMES. THE FINAL DAY INCLUDED PRESENTATIONS ON INFLUENCING N POLITICS, TRENDS AND INCENTIVE IN PROPERTY BUSINESS INCENTIVES AND SITE SELECTION, DEPT OF REVENUE/ UPDATE MOTOR VEHICLE SYSTEM, RULES AND PRACTICES. THE CONFERENCE TRAINING AGENDA AND SESSION DESCRIPTIONS WERE REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE IN ACCORDANCE WITH O.C.G.A. 48-5-126.1. THEREFORE, ALL TAX COMMISSIONERS AND STAFF IN ATTENDANCE RECEIVED UP TO 14 HOURS TOWARDS ANNUALLY REQUIRED TRAINING.
