SUMMER RESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS 21ST CENTURY LEADERS' SUMMER LEADERSHIP INSTITUTES ARE ONE-WEEK RESIDENTIAL INSTITUTES ON COLLEGE AND CORPORATE CAMPUSES FOCUSED ON LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND CAREER EXPLORATION ACROSS INDUSTRY SECTORS. OUR FOUR SUMMER INSTITUTES IMPACTED 329 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM 133 HIGH SCHOOLS AND 42 COUNTIES ACROSS THE STATE IN 2023. 92% OF STUDENTS REPORTED THAT THEY ARE MORE LIKELY TO SEEK OUT OR CONTINUE SEEKING OUT LEADERSHIP ROLES, WHILE 89% OF STUDENTS REPORTED THEIR CONFIDENCE AS A LEADER INCREASED, AND 53% OF STUDENTS SAID THEY DISCOVERED A NEW CAREER FIELD OF INTEREST AS A RESULT OF THE PROGRAM.
SCHOOL-YEAR PROGRAMS 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR AND START OF 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR, WE SERVED OVER 2,400 STUDENTS WITH 474 LIVE TRAINING EVENTS, PROGRAMS, AND EXPERIENCES FOR THE YEAR. OUR ONLINE LEARNING PLATFORM, LEADERSHIP CONNECT SAW A RECORD ENROLLMENT WITH 96% OF STUDENTS ENROLLED RECEIVED FREE ACCESS. WE DELIVERED 130 MODULES OF GAMIFIED CONTENT IN SEVEN CORE LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES WITHIN LEADERSHIP CONNECT, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION TRAINING, FINANCIAL LITERACY, HEALTH AND WELLNESS, WHILE INCENTIVIZING AND REWARDING THEM INCLUDING NEARLY 5,000 IN GIFT CARDS. WE ALSO LAUNCHED A PAID SUMMER INTERSHIP AND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR GRADUATING SENIORS AND PROVIDED 38,500 IN SCHOLARSHIPS TO CURRENT STUDENTS AND (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)
HOMEWORK CENTERS OUR HOMEWORK CENTER PROGRAM ESTABLISHED AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORING AND ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS IN GEORGIA TITLE 1 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS FOR UP TO FOUR YEARS AT EACH SCHOOL. IN THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR, AN AVERAGE OF 262 STUDENTS WERE ENROLLED AND ATTENDED ACROSS THE TEN PARTICIPATING ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS. 93% OF PARENTS AGREE THAT SINCE ATTENDING THE SCANA ENERGY HOMEWORK CENTER, THEIR CHILD IS DOING BETTER ON SCHOOLWORK, 87% REPORTED THAT THEIR CHILD IS BETTER PREPARE FOR CLASS. PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS REPORTED IMPROVED GRADES AND GAINS IN TEST SCORES AMONG HOMEWORK CENTER STUDENTS, ESPECIALLY IN MATH AND READING.
