THE GREENVILLE COMMUNITY SHELTERS OPERATES A NIGHT-ONLY EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILY UNITS. TWO MEALS PER DAY ARE PROVIDED UNLESS INCLEMENT WEATHER OR A NATURAL DISASTER REQUIRES ADDITIONAL MEAL SERVICE. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PROVIDES ASSISTANCE IN ARRANGING HOUSING FOR HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILY UNITS REACHING THE END OF THE MAXIMUM TIME ALLOWED AT THE SHELTER IN COLLABORATION WITH VARIOUS LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL AND PRIVATE ENTITIES.A FREE CLINIC RUN BY MEDICAL STUDENTS AT THE BRODY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AT EAST CAROLINA UNIVERSITY IS LOCATED INSIDE THE SHELTER. THE CLINIC OFFERS BASIC MEDICAL SERVICES AND REFERRALS TO ANYONE IN NEED OF THEM.
