HE MISSION OF THE NABA, INC. ATLANTA CHAPTER IS TO ADDRESS THE PROFESSIONAL NEEDS OF ITS MEMBERS AND TO BUILD LEADERS THAT SHAPE THE FUTURE OF THE ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE PROFESSION WITH AN UNFALTERING COMMITMENT TO INSPIRE THE SAME IN THEIR SUCCESSORS.

ACAP (ACCOUNTING CAREER AWARENESS PROGRAM) IN PARTNERSHIP WITH EMORY UNIVERSITY GOIZUETA BUSINESS SCHOOL, THE ACCOUNTING CAREER AWARENESS PROGRAM IS A ONE-WEEK SUMMER RESIDENCY PROGRAM TO EXPOSE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO CAMPUS LIFE, CAREERS IN ACCOUNTING, FINANCE AND BUSINESS AND THE ART OF TEAM BUILDING. THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ACAP COMMITTEE INCLUDE PLANNING THE PROGRAM'S AGENDA, RECRUITING STUDENTS, PROCESSING APPLICATIONS, AND INTERVIEWING HIGH SCHOOL CANDIDATES.

FINANCIAL LITERACY | COMMUNITY AFFAIRS THE FINANCIAL LITERACY COMMITTEE PROVIDES COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROJECTS FOCUSED ON FINANCIAL LITERACY. THE ATLANTA CHAPTER FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAMS ARE DESIGNED TO EMPOWER HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH, COLLEGE STUDENTS, AND LOW TO MODERATE INCOME ADULTS WITH MONEY MANAGEMENT SKILLS TO INCREASE THEIR AWARENESS OF FINANCIAL OPTIONS AND STRATEGIES. THE FINANCIAL LITERACY COMMITTEE ALSO PARTNERS WITH JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT, A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION, TO DELIVER A FINANCIAL EDUCATION TO YOUTH AT LOCAL ATLANTA SCHOOLS. THE COMMUNITY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR COORDINATING THE IRS VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (VITA), EMPTY STOCKING FUND, AND OTHER COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER EFFORTS. THE OVERALL GOAL OF THIS COMMITTEE IS TO INCREASE FINANCIAL LITERACY WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE MEMBERS WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO GIVE BACK.
MEMBERSHIP THE MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ACTIVELY RECRUITING NEW MEMBERS, RETAINING AND RECLAIMING FORMER MEMBERS, AND ENCOURAGING MEMBER PARTICIPATION IN CHAPTER, REGIONAL AND NATIONAL ACTIVITIES. THIS COMMITTEE ALSO COORDINATES VARIOUS ACTIVITIES INCLUDING MEMBERSHIP DRIVES MEMBERSHIP APPRECIATION RECEPTIONS, SOCIALS, AND OTHER NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES.
