ALTHOUGH REIMBURSEMENT FOR SERVICES RENDERED IS CRITICAL TO THE OPERATION AND STABILITY OF BAPTIST MEMORIAL HOME CARE, INC., IT IS RECOGNIZED THAT NOT ALL INDIVIDUALS POSSESS THE ABILITY TO PURCHASE ESSENTIAL MEDICAL SERVICES, AND FURTHER, THAT OUR MISSION IS TO SERVE THE COMMUNITY WITH RESPECT TO PROVIDING HEALTH CARE SERVICES AND HEALTH CARE EDUCATION. THEREFORE, IN KEEPING WITH ITS COMMITMENT TO SERVE ALL MEMBERS OF ITS COMMUNITY, BAPTIST MEMORIAL HOME CARE, INC. PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING: - FREE CARE AND/OR SUBSIDIZED CARE WHERE THE NEED AND/OR AN INDIVIDUAL'S INABILITY TO PAY CO-EXIST,- CARE PROVIDED TO PERSONS COVERED BY GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMS AT BELOW COST, AND- HEALTH ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS TO SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY.THESE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE WELLNESS PROGRAMS, COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS, AND PROGRAMS FOR THE ELDERLY, HANDICAPPED, MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED, AND A VARIETY OF BROAD COMMUNITY SUPPORT ACTIVITIES.BAPTIST MEMORIAL HOME CARE, INC. PROVIDES CARE TO PERSONS COVERED BY GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMS FROM WHICH THE ENTITY RECEIVES PAYMENT AT LESS THAN MARKET VALUE REIMBURSEMENT. RECOGNIZING ITS MISSION TO THE COMMUNITY, SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO BOTH MEDICARE AND MEDICAID PATIENTS. TO THE EXTENT REIMBURSEMENT IS BELOW COST, BAPTIST MEMORIAL HOME CARE, INC. RECOGNIZES THESE AMOUNTS AS CHARITY CARE IN MEETING ITS MISSION TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED SEPTEMBER 30, 2021, THE UNREIMBURSED VALUE OF PROVIDING CARE TO THESE PATIENTS WAS $102,940.CHARITY CARE IS ALSO PROVIDED THROUGH MANY REDUCED PRICE SERVICES AND FREE PROGRAMS OFFERED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR BASED UPON ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES THAT BAPTIST MEMORIAL HOME CARE, INC. BELIEVES WILL SERVE A BONA FIDE COMMUNITY HEALTH NEED.BAPTIST TRINITY HOSPICE, A DIVISION OF BAPTIST MEMORIAL HOME CARE, INC., PROVIDES MUCH NEEDED HELP AND SUPPORT FOR PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES BY OFFERING COMPANIONSHIP AND A LISTENING EAR. VOLUNTEERS MAY ALSO PROVIDE HELP BY ANSWERING PHONES, COORDINATING SERVICES, AND SPEAKING TO GROUPS ABOUT THE HOSPICE PROGRAM.THE BAPTIST TRINITY HOSPICE BEREAVEMENT PROGRAM CREATED THE MID-SOUTH'S FIRST CHILDREN'S BEREAVEMENT CAMP - CAMP GOOD GRIEF. THE GOAL OF THE FREE CAMP IS TO GIVE AREA CHILDREN AN ENJOYABLE, ACCEPTING, AND SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH THEY CAN FREELY EXPRESS THEIR FEELINGS ABOUT THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE.ANY CHILD BETWEEN THE AGES OF 7 AND 12 WHO HAS EXPERIENCED A LOSS IN THE LAST TWO YEARS IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE CAMP. UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF PROFESSIONAL BEREAVEMENT STAFF, CAMPERS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET WITH OTHER CHILDREN WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR LOSSES, AND TO ENGAGE IN ACTIVITIES INVOLVING ART, MUSIC, MOVEMENT, AND RECREATION THROUGH WHICH THEY EXPLORE THEIR GRIEF. THERE ARE ALSO DAILY SESSIONS IN WHICH STAFF MEET TO GIVE CAMPERS A CHANCE TO COMMUNICATE CONCERNS AND RESOLVE FEELINGS ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES. TEEN CAMP GOOD GRIEF HAS BEEN A GREAT SUCCESS AS WELL. TEEN CAMP GOOD GRIEF IS OPEN TO TEENS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 13 AND 16. TEENS NEED SERVICES THAT ARE DIRECTED TOWARD THEM AND MEET THEM WHERE THEY ARE DEVELOPMENTALLY. THE GOAL OF TEEN CAMP GOOD GRIEF IS TO HELP THEM EXPLORE AND EXPRESS THEIR GRIEF AND LEARN TO LIVE IN THE WORLD WITHOUT THAT SPECIAL PERSON. AN ANNUAL ADULT GRIEF CAMP HAS ALSO BEEN ADDED. THE CENTER FOR GOOD GRIEF IS THE FIRST BEREAVEMENT CENTER FOR ALL AGES AVAILABLE IN THE MID-SOUTH. ALL SERVICES ARE FREE OF CHARGE.BAPTIST MEMORIAL HOME CARE, INC. PROVIDED A NUMBER OF SERVICES AND PROGRAMS FOR THE COMMUNITY SUCH AS:- HEALTH FAIRS AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS- BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS CONDUCTED THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY- HEALTH EDUCATION PRESENTATIONS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS- HOSPICE PROGRAMS SUCH AS THE FOLLOWING: - GRIEF SUPPORT SESSIONS - MEMORIAL SERVICES TWO TIMES PER YEAR - HOLIDAY GRIEF WORKSHOPS - VOLUNTEER TRAINING PROGRAMS - BEREAVEMENT TELECONFERENCES - COMMUNITY BEREAVEMENT SESSIONS
