RECREATIONAL AND TOURISM EVENTS - VARIOUS EVENTS ARE HELD THROUGHOUT THE YEAR PROMOTING HUNTING, GOLFING, AND OTHER RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE IN CLARENDON COUNTY.
FISHING TOURNAMENTS - THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE CONTRACTS WITH PROFESSIONAL FISHING CIRCUITS TO PROVIDE TOURNAMENTS ON LAKE MARION WHICH IS LOCATED IN CLARENDON COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA. THE FISHING TOURNAMENTS ATTRACTS PROFESSIONAL FISHERMEN ALONG WITH THEIR SUPPORT STAFF AND SERVES TO PROMOTE LAKE MARION AND STIMULATES THE LOCAL ECONOMY THROUGH SALE OF MOTEL AND HOTEL ROOMS, MEALS AT LOCAL RESTAURANTS, AND OTHER LOCAL SERVICES.
CLARENDON COUNTY STRIPED BASS FESTIVAL - THE ANNUAL FESTIVAL IS HELD IN THE SPRING OF EACH YEAR AND ATTRACTS AN ESTIMATED 20,000 - 25,000 VISITORS TO THE COUNTY FOR A WEEKEND OF ENTERTAINMENT, PARADES, AUTO SHOWS, ART SHOWS, BEAUTY CONTEST, AND OTHER EVENTS.
