SINCE ITS FOUNDING MORE THAN 90 YEARS AGO, THE DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS DAV HAS BEEN DEDICATED TO A SINGLE PURPOSE. BUILDING BETTER LIVES FOR AMERICAS DISABLED VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES. FIDELITY TO THAT MISSION HAS REQUIRED DAV TO RESPOND CREATIVELY AND FLEXIBLY TO CHANGING AND SOMETIMES UNPREDICTABLE CHALLENGES FACED BY ITS CONSTITUENCY. WHETHER DISABLED VETERANS HAVE NEEDED A VOICE ON CAPITAL HILL, A NATIONWIDE SERVICE PROGRAM, A TRANSPORTATION NETWORK OR UNIQUE REHABILITION OPPORTUNITIES, DAV HAS FOCUSED ITS ATTENTION AND RESOURCES TO MEET THOSE NEEDS.

SERVICE FOUNDATION - THE DEPARTMENT PROVIDES SUPPORT TO ADVANCE THE INTERESTS AND WORK FOR THE BETTERMENT OF ALL DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS. THE MAJORITY OF THIS SUPPORT IS PROVIDED THROUGH TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TO LOCAL VA HOSPITALS.


CONVENTIONS AND CONFERENCES - THE DEPARTMENT HOLDS AN ANNUAL CONVENTION AND A FALL AND SPRING CONFERENCE AS WELL AS OTHER MEETINGS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. THESE MEETINGS HELP ESTABLISH A FEELING OF DEVOTION AND COMRADESHIP AMONG THE DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS.
