TO PROVIDE ENTERTAINMENT, ENRICHMENT AND EDUCATION THROUGH THE PRACTICE AND CELEBRATION OF THE THEATRE ARTS. OUR VISION IS FOR THE THEATRE TO BE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE COMMUNITY.

IN MARCH OF 2020, WE CONSCIOUSLY SHRANK TO 25% OF OUR FORMER SIZE TO PROTECT ACT FOR THE FUTURE. FROM A FULL AND PART TIME STAFF WORKING 400+ HOURS PER WEEK, ACT SHRANK TO 9 STAFF MEMBERS WORKING FEWER THAN 90 HOURS PER WEEK. WE HAVE TRIED NEW THINGS AND FOUND NEW WAYS TO CONNECT WITH OUR COMMUNITY. FOR EXAMPLE, IN APRIL 2020, WE BEGAN ONLINE PROGRAMMING THAT INCLUDED "ACT READS" WHERE ACTORS FROM OUR COMMUNITY READ STORYBOOKS FOR CHILDREN ON ZOOM (VIEWED BY OVER 5,800 PEOPLE) AND "FACE WITH A NAME" WHERE WE INTERVIEWED VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF TO GIVE OUR AUDIENCE A BETTER IDEA OF WHO MAKES UP THE ACT FAMILY (VIEWED BY OVER 8,200 PEOPLE).
HERE ARE JUST A FEW MORE EXAMPLES OF OUR WORK THROUGHOUT THE PANDEMIC SHUTDOWN: SIXTY-TWO ONLINE CLASSES WHICH HAVE ENGAGED 667 CHILDREN AND ADULTS. IN OCTOBER 2020, WE BEGAN OFFERING SMALL, IN- PERSON, SOCIALLY-DISTANCED AND MASKED CLASSES FOR YOUTH, AND ALL CLASSES HAVE REACHED CAPACITY WITH 12-15 STUDENTS IN EACH SESSION. STREAMED AND VIDEO ON DEMAND PRODUCTIONS OF SHOWS LIKE TRANSITION (A NEW PLAY BY A LOCAL PLAYWRIGHT WHICH HAD BEEN SLATED FOR DEBUT IN OUR SPACE IN 2020) AND LITTLE WOMEN (A PLAY THAT HAD BEEN MERE WEEKS AWAY FROM OPENING WHEN WE HAD TO SHUT OUR DOORS. COLLECTIVELY THESE PRODUCTIONS SOLD OVER 2,500 "TICKETS" EACH.
WE ALSO SPONSORED: "COSTUME QUESTX AND "#ACTHAPPYHOUR". FURTHER, WE LAUNCHED A DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI) COMMITTEE WHICH WILL BE OUR MAIN FOCUS FOR THE UPCOMING YEAR.
