THE KANSAS CITY MEDICAL SOCIETY FOUNDATION PROVIDES CHARITABLE CARE PROGRAMS THAT DELIVER OVER $8 MILLION WORTH OF DONATED SPECIALTY CARE TO UNINSURED PATIENTS EACH YEAR. IN ADDITION, WE CARRY OUT PROGRAMS ADVANCING THE OVERALL HEALTH AND HEALTH EQUITY OF PEOPLE ACROSS GREATER KANSAS CITY.

CHARITABLE CARE - TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE IN THE KANSAS CITY REGION WHO HAVE NO INSURANCE AND HAVE INCOMES BELOW 200% OF THE FEDERAL POVERTY LEVEL, THE KANSAS CITY MEDICAL SOCIETY FOUNDATION OPERATES CHARITABLE CARE PROGRAMS THAT DELIVER OVER $8,000,000 IN DONATED SPECIALTY HEALTHCARE EACH YEAR. KCMS FOUNDATION WORKS WITH AREA PHYSICIANS, HOSPITALS AND HEALTHCARE PRACTICES TO PROCURE DONATION OF MEDICALLY NECESSARY HEALTHCARE SERVICES. KCMS FOUNDATION THEN COORDINATES THAT HEALTHCARE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FEDERALLY-QUALIFIED HEALTH CENTERS AND SAFETY-NET CLINICS ACROSS THE METRO.
ADVOCACY - KCMS FOUNDATION WORKS TO IMPROVE HEALTH EQUITY AND COMMUNITY HEALTH BY ADVANCING ACCESS TO CARE THROUGH MEDICAID EXPANSION. BY ELEVATING THE VOICES OF PHYSICIANS AND HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS IN THIS CRITICAL HEALTH EQUITY ISSUE, KCMS FOUNDATION SUPPORT INCREASED ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE IN OUR COMMUNITY.
