TUTORED 171 KINDERGARTEN AND FIRST GRADE STRUGGLING READERS TWICE WEEKLY, OCTOBER - MAY IN THE SCHOOLS AND JUNE - JULY VIA ZOOM, PROVIDING A TOTAL OF 7,278 TUTORING SESSIONS. IMPLEMENTING A PROVEN, RESEARCH-BASED PROGRAM THAT ALIGNS WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS' CURRICULA, PAID EDUCATORS WROTE LESSON PLANS CUSTOMIZED WEEKLY TO ADDRESS EACH CHILD'S LEARNING DEFICITS WHICH WERE USED BY 234 VOLUNTEER TUTORS DURING SESSIONS. STAFF ALSO PROVIDED TRAINING AND ONGOING SUPPORT. LESSONS DIRECTLY REINFORCED CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION, LEADING TO GREAT SUCCESS WITH 84% OF STUDENTS ENDING BY READING ON OR ABOVE LEVEL.
