MERCY HEALTH FOUNDATION WASHINGTON'S (THE "FOUNDATION") PRIMARY ACTIVITY IS TO ENGAGE IN FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT CHARITY CARE PROVIDED TO THE PATIENTS OF MERCY HOSPITALS EAST COMMUNITIES WASHINGTON (THE "HOSPITAL"), THE ORGANIZATION BEING SUPPORTED BY THE FOUNDATION, AND TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR CAPITAL EXPENSES INCURRED AND PROGRAMS CARRIED ON BY THE HOSPITAL ON BEHALF OF PATIENTS. THE FOUNDATION SPENDS APPROXIMATELY 95% OF ITS TIME AND RESOURCES DIRECTED AT THESE ACTIVITIES.
