WOMEN LEADERS IN SPORTS (WLIS) OFFERS A WIDE RANGE OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS, AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES TO ALL MEMBERS, NO MATTER THE LEVEL OF THEIR CAREER. WLIS SUPPORTS AN INTERACTIVE WEBSITE WITH JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS, MEETING AND EVENT INFORMATION, NEWS AND RESOURCES ABOUT TITLE IX AND OTHER ISSUES, INDUSTRY UPDATES, AND FORUMS AND BLOGS WITH OTHER MEMBERS AND INDUSTRY EXPERTS. WLIS PUBLISHES A WEEKLY UPDATE EMAIL AND AN ANNUAL NEWSLETTER. WLIS OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES TO ALL WLIS PROGRAMMING AND EVENTS.
THE WLIS NATIONAL CONVENTION IS THE PREMIER CONFERENCE FOR WOMEN WORKING IN INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS. ATTENDED BY ATHLETICS DIRECTORS, CONFERENCE COMMISSIONERS, COACHES, SENIOR WOMAN ADMINISTRATORS AND STAFF FROM ALL DIVISIONS OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS, THIS ANNUAL GATHERING PROVIDES THREE DAYS OF INSPIRATION, LEADERSHIP TRAINING, NETWORKING, AND ENGAGING SPEAKERS. IT ALSO ALLOWS WLIS MEMBERS TO GATHER, SHARE AND DISCUSS BEST PRACTICES, CURRENT ISSUES, TRENDS, AND CHANGES AFFECTING INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS.
WLIS HAS PARTNERED WITH THE NCAA TO REGULARLY OFFER THREE PROFESSIONAL/LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS WITH THE GOAL OF PROVIDING A BENEFICIAL EXPERIENCE TO EVERY FEMALE ATHLETIC ADMINISTRATOR - NO MATTER WHERE SHE IS IN HER CAREER. THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE NCAA/WLIS PROGRAMMING IS TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN WORKING IN INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS ADMINISTRATION TO INCREASE THEIR SKILLS AND ENHANCE OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH IN THE FIELD.
