TOURISM AND LOCAL BUSINESS PROMOTION VIA WEBSITE BANNERS, SOCIAL MEDIA BANNERS, DIRECT CONTACT WITH VISITORS VIA EMAIL, NEWSLETTERS, PHONE INQUIRIES, PRESS RELEASES AND WEBSITE UPDATES (VISITOCRACOKEVILLAGE.COM). DISTRIBUTED INFORMATION ABOUT OCRACOKE VIA PRODUCTION OF YEARLY WALKING MAP BROCHURE (90,000 COPIES) WHICH IS CIRCULATED TO LOCAL BUSINESSES AND VISITOR CENTERS THROUGHOUT NORTH CAROLINA. IN FY 2021/2022 AS THE IMPACTS OF COVID SUBSIDED, EVENTS HISTORICALLY ORGANIZED BY THE OCRACOKE CIVIC AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATION RESUMED. THE JULY 4TH FESTIVITIES, THE ANNUAL PIRATE JAMBOREE, HOLIDAY LIGHTING AND A HOLIDAY GIFT MARKET WERE HELD DURING THE FISCAL YEAR. A FUNDING GRANT OF 59,621 WAS RECEIVED FROM THE HYDE COUNTY OCRACOKE OCCUPANCY TAX BOARD (OTB). THE OTB GRANT WAS USED TO FUND THE OCRACOKE CIVIC AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATION'S ORGANIZATION, ADVERTISING AND FULFILLMENT OF THE AFOREMENTIONED EVENTS AND TO SUPPORT AN OCRACOKE VISITOR CENTER OPERATED UNDER THE OCRACOKE CIVIC AND BUSINESS ASSOCIATION.
