EM HOLT FIRE DEPARTMENT IS INCORPORATED AND ORGANIZED UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA AS A NON PROFIT CORPORATION. THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE CORPORATION IS TO AFFORD FIRE PROTECTION TO THE COMMUNITY AND TO AID, ASSIST AND COOPERATE WITH ANY AND ALL ORGANIZATIONS, PRIVATE OR PUBLIC, IN PROMOTING SAFETY TO PROPERTY AND PROTECTION OF LIVES.

THE PRIMARY PROGRAM SERVICE OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS TO AFFORD FIRE PROTECTION TO THE COMMUNITY. ITS SECONDARY MISSION IS TO AID, ASSIST AND COOPERATE WITH ANY AND ALL ORGANIZATIONS, PRIVATE OR PUBLIC, IN PROMOTING SAFETY TO PROPERTY AND PROTECTION OF LIVES. THE DEPARTMENT HAS APPROXIMATELY 20 VOLUNTEERS THAT ARE PAID $10.00 PER CALL AND 4 ARE UNPAID EXPLORERS. THERE ARE 14 PAID MEMBERS WITH FOUR PAID FULL-TIME FIREFIGHTERS, INCLUDING THE CHIEF, AND TEN PART TIME EMPLOYEES. TWO FULL TIME EMPLOYEES ARE ON A TWENTY-FOUR SHIFT ROTATION. TOTAL CALLS IN CALENDAR YEARS 2020 AND 2021 WERE 845.
