THE PCC FOUNDATION PLACES TOP PRIORITY ON PROVIDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT IN THE FORM OF SCHOLARSHIPS AND PROGRAM FUNDING TO STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF AT PIEDMONT COMMUNITY COLLEGE. THROUGH CONTRIBUTIONS AND EVENT SPONSORSHIPS FROM INDIVIDUALS, BUSINESSES, AND CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS IN AND AROUND OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY, THESE FUNDS HAVE BEEN ALLOCATED TO PROVIDE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS, FACULTY AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND EXCELLENCE AWARDS, MINI-GRANTS FOR INNOVATIVE PROJECTS AND COLLEGE, AMONG OTHER INITIATIVES.

SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED TO 105 STUDENTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $184,541. THESE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE FUNDED BY LOCAL BUSINESSES, ORGANIZATIONS, AND INDIVIDUALS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO ALLOCATES FUNDS TO ITS ANNUAL BUDGET TO SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM.
SPECIAL ALLOCATIONS: RENOVATION PROJECTS AND NEW PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT MAY RECEIVE FUNDING FROM THE PCC FOUNDATION. INSTITUTIONAL PROJECTS THAT CAN NO LONGER BE FUNDED THROUGH THE STATE ARE GIVEN CONSIDERATION FROM THE PCC FOUNDATION.
THE PCC FOUNDATION REWARDS FACULTY MEMBERS WHO GO ABOVE AND BEYOND IN THEIR PROGRAM OF STUDY. A PEER-BASED COMMITTEE REVIEWS THE SUBMITTED PORTFOLIOS AND MAKES AWARD RECOMMENDATIONS. UP TO TWO STAFF MEMBERS ARE SELECTED FROM A POOL OF NOMINATIONS TO RECEIVE THE STAFF EXCELLENCE AWARD EACH YEAR. THE RECIPIENTS OF THIS AWARD DEMONSTRATE A HIGH LEVEL OF COMMITTMENT TO THE INSTITUTION AND THE COMMUNITY.
