OPERATION OF A COMMUNITY CENTER WITH VARIOUS EARLY CHILDHOOD, AQUATICS, YOUTH/TEEN, AND ADULT PROGRAMS.

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS - SHALOM CHILDREN'S CENTER IS A 5-STAR PRESCHOOL AND CHILDCARE CENTER SERVING CHILDREN AGES 6 WEEKS THROUGH 5 YEARS. HOURS ARE MONDAY TO FRIDAY, 7:45 AM TO 5:00 PM WITH FULL AND PART-TIME OPTIONS AVAILABLE. THE MISSION OF THE CENTER IS TO RAISE EACH CHILD TO FORM A COMMUNITY OF PEACE THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF POSITIVE SELF-AWARENESS AND SELF-ESTEEM, WHILE FOSTERING AN UNDERSTANDING OF EACH CHILD'S INTER- CONNECTEDNESS WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD.
WELLNESS AND AQUATICS - THE FACILITY INCLUDES AN INDOOR/OUTDOOR SWIMMING POOL THAT IS OPEN DAILY YEAR-ROUND. ACQUATIC PROGRAMMING INCLUDES SWIM TEAM, SWIM LESSONS, LAP SWIMMING, WATER FITNESS, AND RECREATIONAL SWIMMING. ACQUATICS CENTER MEMBERS HAVE ACCESS TO THE PEARLMAN-ROTHMAN FAMILY PLAZA THAT INCLUDES AN OUTDOOR PAVILION WITH BABY POOL AND SPLASH PAD ALONG WITH PICNIC SPACE.
YOUTH AND TEEN PROGRAMS - JCC KIDS AFTER-SCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM PROVIDES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS GRADES K-5 SUPERVISED AFTER-SCHOOL CARE IN A SAFE AND SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT. HOMEWORK SUPERVISION AND ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES ARE PROVIDED, AND HOURS ARE 2:30 TO 5:00 PM DAILY. JCC KIDS IS OPEN ALL DAY (9:00 AM TO 5:30 PM) FOR PUBLIC SCHOOL VACATIONS, SOME HOLIDAY CLOSINGS, AND SNOW DAYS. CAMP RUACH IS AN 8-TO-10 WEEK SUMMER DAY CAMP FOR CHILDREN GRADES K-8, OFFERING A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES INCLUDING GAMES, CRAFTS, SWIMMING, AND EXPOSURE TO JEWISH CULTURE AND VALUES. HOURS ARE 8:30 AM TO 5:30 PM DAILY, WITH EXTENDED CARE AVAILABLE.
CULTURAL ADULT AND FAMILY PROGRAMS - CULTURAL PROGRAMMING INCLUDES ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS TO ALLOW THE COMMUNITY TO EXPERIENCE JEWISH CULTURE, TRADITIONS, AND HOLIDAYS. EXAMPLES INCLUDE PJ LIBRARY, TU B'SHEVAT SEDER, PURIM CARNIVAL/CONCERT, FALAFEL 5K RUN/WALK, HANUKKAH CANDLE LIGHTING, BRUNCH B'YACHAD, ISRAELI FILM DISCUSSION SERIES, JEWISH BOOK CLUB, WELCOME SHABBAT, AND ADULT GOURMET DINNERS AND EXCURSIONS. MEMBERSHIP AT THE ORGANIZATION IS OFFERED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS TO THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY. MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN JCC PROGRAMMING.
