THE BETA PI CHAPTER OF SIGMA PI IS A MEN'S FRATERNITY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA DEDICATED TO PROMOTING SCHOLARSHIP AND DEVELOPING THE CHARACTER OF ALL BROTHERS IN THE ORGANIZATION.

IN THE BEGINNING OF THE SPRING SEMESTER, THE BETA-PI CHAPTER OF SIGMA PI PARTICIPATED IN THE SCHOOL'S FORMAL RECRUITMENT PROCESS. THE GOAL OF THIS PROCESS IS TO RECRUIT UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY WHO EXEMPLIFY THE IDEALS OF SIGMA PI TO JOIN THE FRATERNITY IN HOPES OF THE CHAPTER CONTINUING TO THRIVE AND MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON CAMPUS. A TOTAL OF 10 MEN JOINED OUR BROTHERHOOD AS A RESULT OF THESE EFFORTS.
ANOTHER MAJOR EXPENSE INCURRED BY THE BETA-PI CHAPTER OF SIGMA-PI IS RELATED TO THE MAINTENANCE AND PARLOR FEES ASSOCIATED WITH THE FRATERNITY HOUSE. EXPENSES INCURRED INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, ENSURING PROPER AVAILABILITY OF THE CHAPTER ROOM, DINING AREAS, AND KITCHEN. ADDITIONAL EXPENSES INCLUDE CLEANING SUPPLIES AND REPAIR WORK TO ANY DAMAGED OR MALFUNCTIONING AREAS OF THE HOUSE.
DURING OUR FALL SEMESTER OF 2020, THE BETA-PI CHAPTER OF SIGMA PI CONDUCTED A SOCIAL MEDIA FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FOR THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY. BY USING BROTHERS' SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS, WE PROMOTED OUR CAMPAIGN AND RAISED OVER $750 FOR THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY.
