DANCE COMPANY PERFORMANCES: THE PROFESSIONAL DANCE COMPANY PERFORMS UNDER THE ARTISTIC DIRECTION OF CHOREOGRAPHER, LUCY BOWEN MCCAULEY. THE COMPANY OF DANCERS HAS ALSO PERFORMED NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY THROUGH ART FESTIVALS. BMDC HAS ESTABLISHED PARTNERSHIPS WITH AREA ART LEADERS THAT INCLUDE THE SIGNATURE THEATRE, ALEXANDRIA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA, KENNEDY CENTER AND LANSBURGH THEATRE. THE COMPANY DANCERS ARE KNOWN FOR THEIR ATHLETICISM AND VIBRANCY OF PERFORMANCES SET TO LIVE MUSIC. THE NUMEROUS ESTABLISHED DANCE RESIDENCY PROGRAMS ARE MOST FREQUENTLY PRESENTED AT AREA SCHOOLS, AND OFFER AGE-APPROPRIATE CLASS INSTRUCTION AND PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES AT VENUES, SUCH AS, THE KENNEDY CENTER MILLENNIUM STAGE, BMDC'S "ANNUAL MOVE ME FESTIVAL, ARLINGTONX AND TASTE OF ARLINGTON. ADULT OUTREACH: RECOGNIZING THE POWER OF DANCE AND THE BENEFITS IT CAN PROVIDE TO SENIORS, BMDC OFFERS ITS DANCE PROGRAMS AND OTHER UNIQUE STRETCH CLASSES TO ADULTS OF VARIOUS AGES AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NYC'S MARK MORRIS DANCE GROUP (MMDG), BMDC HAS SUCCESSFULLY GROWN ITS "DANCE FOR PARKINSON'S DISEASE" COMMUNITY PROGRAM TO NINE DC AREA LOCATIONS PROVIDING FREE, WEEKLY DANCE CLASSES TO PEOPLE WITH PARKINSON'S DISEASE AND THEIR CARE-PARTNERS. BMDC IS THE ONLY LICENSED AFFILIATE OF THE MMDG'S RESEARCHED-BACKED DANCE FOR PARKINSON'S DISEASE PROGRAM IN THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION. (SEE SCH O, PART III, LINE 3)
