THE FOUNDATION FOCUSES ON PROVIDING SERVICES THAT ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM THE PUBLIC SECTOR TO MENTAL HEALTH CLIENTS THROUGH GRANT-BASED "SAFETY NETS" FOR THOSE WHO LACK BASIC GOODS AND SERVICES.

EVERY AUTUMN THE FOUNDATION, ALONG WITH A GROUP OF OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN THE MENTAL HEALTH FIELD, CO-SPONSORS A CONFERENCE ON THE ISSUE OF RECOVERY FROM MENTAL ILLNESS. THE FOUNDATION PAYS FOR THE CONFERENCE COST. THE CONFERENCE IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND IS WELL ATTENDED BY INDIVIDUALS WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AS WELL. THIS YEAR'S EXPENSES INCLUDE A DISBURSEMENT BY AGREEMENT TO ANOTHER NONPROFIT TO BECOME RESPONSIBLE TO OPERATE AND CONTINUE THE CONFERENCE GOING FORWARD IN 2022. THIS REPRESENTS LESS THAN 25% OF THE FUND BALANCE AND WAS NOT REPORTED IN THAT CATEGORY.
INCLUDED AMONG THE GRANTS THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES ARE THOSE TO INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE CURRENTLY IN TREATMENT FOR MENTAL ILLNESS FOR BASIC NEEDS AND SERVICES TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF THEIR LIVES AND AID IN THEIR RECOVERY. THE FOUNDATION FUNDS MEDICAL CO-PAYS FOR SOME OF THESE INDIVIDUALS IN TREATMENT.
GRANTS TO INDIVIDUALS PROVIDED FUNDING FOR NECESSARY SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH MENTAL HEALTH CHALLENGES AND RECOVERY THEREFROM. EXAMPLES INCLUDE: URGENT DENTAL CARE, JOB TRAINING, WEIGHT REDUCTION PROGRAMS, TRANSPORTATION FARECARDS AND ANCILLARY THERAPY.
