EARLY EDUCATION PROGRAM: CFNC PROVIDES FREE, HIGH-QUALITY, BI-LINGUAL PRESCHOOL TO 139 THREE AND FOUR-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN AT 8 NEIGHBORHOOD CLASSROOM LOCATIONS. CFNC'S PROGRAM RUNS FOR ONE YEAR FOR FOUR-YEAR-OLDS AND TWO YEARS FOR THREE-YEAR-OLDS FOR EACH FAMILY. EACH CLASSROOM HAS TWO HIGHLY-QUALIFIED TEACHERS TO ENSURE EACH STUDENT IS KINDERGARTEN READY BY THE END OF THE YEAR. WE RECOGNIZE THAT ACCESS TO HIGH-QUALITY, CARING, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCTION IS A PRIVILEGE, BUT SHOULD BE A RIGHT FOR ALL FAMILIES. WE WORK WITH ALL COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS TO PROVIDE EQUITABLE, INCLUSIVE AND HOLISTIC SUPPORT FOR OUR FAMILIES AT CFNC.
FAMILY SERVICES: BILINGUAL FAMILY SUPPORT WORKERS EMPOWER PARENTS AS THEY WORK TOWARD GAINING PARENTING SKILLS TO SUPPORT THEIR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION. FAMILY SUPPORT WORKERS STRENGTHEN FAMILIES THROUGH CASE MANAGEMENT, HOME-VISITS, AND A VARIETY OF PARENTAL EDUCATION WORKSHOPS RANGING FROM HEALTHY PARENTING TO KINDERGARTEN READINESS. DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, OUR TEAM OFFERS A VARIETY OF EVENTS TO PREPARE FAMILIES FOR KINDERGARTEN IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM.
HEALTH SERVICES: CFNC'S HEALTH SERVICES ENABLE PARENTS TO SUPPORT THE HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT OF THEIR CHILDREN. OUR FAMILY SUPPORT TEAM ASSISTS FAMILIES IN ACCESSING COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES AND ENSURE CHILDREN ENTER KINDERGARTEN HAVING COMPLETED THE APPROPRIATE PHYSICALS, VACCINATIONS, AND MEDICAL SCREENINGS. CFNC PROVIDES HEARING, VISION AND DENTAL SCREENINGS AND REFERS ALL CHILDREN FOR FOLLOW-UP CARE AS NEEDED, ENSURING ISSUES ARE RESOLVED BEFORE CHILDREN ENTER KINDERGARTEN. FURTHER, OUR HOLISTIC HEALTH AND WELLNESS SERVICES ALSO COMBAT OBESITY BY INCORPORATING HEALTHY EATING AND NUTRITION, AS WELL AS PHYSICAL ACTIVITY EACH SCHOOL DAY.
