BATH COUNTY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL (BCCH) OPERATES A 25-BED CRITICAL ACCESS HOSPITAL, TWENTY-FOUR-HOUR EMERGENCY SERVICES, PRIMARY CARE, AND A SELECT RANGE OF DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES, REHABILITATIVE SERVICES, WELLNESS CENTER GYMNASIUM, AND SPECIALTY CLINICS. IN ADDITION, BATH COMMUNITY HOSPITAL HOLDS VARIOUS EVENTS, FREE OF CHARGE, THROUGHOUT THE YEAR THAT BENEFIT THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF THE COMMUNITY. IN 2023, BATH COUNTY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL (BCCH) HAD TOTAL ADMISSIONS OF 188 WITH TOTAL INPATIENT DAYS OF 1,282, WHICH INCLUDES SWING BEDS. BCCH ALSO HAD 3,076 EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT VISITS AND 11,106 HOSPITAL OUTPATIENT VISITS. OUTPATIENT CLINIC VISITS TOTALED 24,832, OF WHICH, 4,748 WERE IN HOT SPRINGS, 16,199 IN COVINGTON, 1,412 IN MILLBORO, AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES WHICH INCLUDED 2,473 CLINIC VISITS. BCCH SERVED A TOTAL OF 143 PATIENTS THROUGH ITS CHARITY CARE/FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.BATH COUNTY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL (BCCH) PROVIDES FREE HEALTH CARE SERVICES THROUGH CLINICS, HEALTH FAIRS, AND OTHER ORGANIZED EVENTS. BENEFITS INCLUDE HEALTH EDUCATION ON DIABETES, PULMONARY AND RESPIRATORY ENCOUNTERS, AND BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS. BCCH PARTNERS WITH THE LARGEST EMPLOYERS IN THE AREA TO PROVIDE ANNUAL COMMUNITY AND COMPANY HEALTH FAIRS THAT PROVIDES FLU, RSV, AND COVID-19 VACCINATIONS, CHOLESTEROL & BLOOD SUGAR PANELS, AND PROSTATE TESTS FOR MINIMAL TO NO COSTS. EDUCATIONAL HANDOUTS AND ON-SITE BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKS ARE PROVIDED BY THE HOSPITAL STAFF'S PARTICIPATION IN ORGANIZED ACTIVITIES COMMUNITY WIDE. EXAMPLES INCLUDE FREE YOUTH SPORTS PHYSICALS IN AREA SCHOOLS 7TH 12TH GRADES, FOOD BANK DISTRIBUTION IN ALLEGHANY HIGHLANDS, AND BATH COUNTIES, ANNUAL LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT'S ANNUAL "NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME, AND DISTRIBUTES PROTECTIVE GEAR SUCH AS FREE HELMETS AND REFLECTORS AT AN ANNUAL BIKE RODEO ALSO HOSTED BY LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AND DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION. BCCH PARTNERS WITH, COLLABORATES WITH, AND SUPPORTS THOSE ORGANIZATIONS THAT SHARE THE SAME MISSION OF IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF THE COMMUNITY. BCCH PARTNERS AND SUPPORTS MANY COMMUNITY AGENCIES IN A JOINT MISSION TO IMPROVE HEALTH AND WELLNESS, PARTICULARLY THOSE NEEDS THAT SURFACED THROUGH THE COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS ASSESSMENT (CHNA) STUDY.
