THE AMERICAN HEALTH CARE ASSOCIATION IS A NON-PROFIT FEDERATION OF AFFILIATE STATE HEALTH ORGANIZATIONS, TOGETHER REPRESENTING MORE THAN 14,000 NON-PROFIT AND FOR-PROFIT NURSING, ASSISTED LIVING, DEVELOPMENTALLY-DISABLED, AND SUB-ACUTE CARE PROVIDERS, CARING FOR MORE THAN ONE MILION INDIVIDUALS EACH DAY.

ADVOCACY: THE ASSOCIATION REPRESENTS THE LONG TERM AND POST-ACUTE CARE COMMUNITY TO THE NATION AT LARGE - TO GOVERNMENT, BUSINESS LEADERS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC - DEVELOPING NECESSARY AND REASONABLE PUBLIC POLICIES WHICH BALANCE ECONOMIC AND REGULATORY PRINCIPLES TO SUPPORT QUALITY CARE AND QUALITY OF LIFE.
QUALITY & RESEARCH: THE ASSOCIATION ASSISTS ITS MEMBERS IN CONTINUING TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF CARE PROVIDED TO RESIDENTS. THIS IS DONE IN A VARIETY OF WAYS, INCLUDING TRAINING PROGRAMS, A QUALITY AWARD PROGRAM, AS WELL AS DEVELOPMENT AND COMPILATION OF COMPREHENSIVE RESEARCH AND DATA CONCERNING THE LONG TERM AND POST-ACUTE SECTOR.
EDUCATION & COMMUNICATION: THE ASSOCIATION USES A VARIETY OF MECHANISMS TO EDUCATE AND COMMUNICATE TO MEMBERS, POLICYMAKERS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON POST-ACUTE AND LONG TERM CARE ISSUES. THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY TRADE JOURNAL, PROVIDER MAGAZINE, IS CIRCULATED MONTHLY TO OVER 50,000 POST-ACUTE FACILITIES AND INTERESTED PARTIES. THE MAGAZINE IS ALSO MADE AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC ON THE ASSOCIATION'S WEBSITE. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO HOSTS AN ANNUAL CONVENTION AS WELL AS OTHER TECHINCAL MEETINGS, WEBINARS AND TRAINING PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
