POLICY DEVELOPMENT: NHC WORKS WITH A BROAD COALITION OF HOUSING STAKEHOLDERS AND ADVOCATES AROUND A WIDE RANGE OF HOUSING ISSUES. OF NHC'S MEMBERS, NO SECTOR OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AND ADVOCACY REPRESENTS MORE THAN 20 PERCENT, ALLOWING FOR A DIVERSE SET OF VIEWS AND PERSPECTIVES. IN 2021, NHC HELD ITS ANNUAL SOLUTIONS FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING CONVENING VIRTUALLY, WHICH DREW 490 PARTICIPANTS. NHC'S MONTHLY RESTORING NEIGHBORHOODS TASK FORCE SHARES RESEARCH, POLICY CHANGES AND BEST PRACTICES FOR COMPREHENSIVE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. NHC CONVENES WORKING GROUPS AROUND KEY POLICY ISSUES INCLUDING MODERNIZATION OF THE COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT ACT AND HOUSING FINANCE REFORM. WE ALSO HOST AN ANNUAL POLICY SUMMIT, WHICH WE HAVE HELD FOR OVER 80 YEARS.


RAISING NATIONAL AWARENESS: NHC BUILDS NATIONAL AWARENESS OF THE IMPORTANCE OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING THROUGH OP-EDS, TELEVISION INTERVIEWS AND PUBLISHED PAPERS. NHC ALSO HOSTS AN ANNUAL CONVENING OF HOUSING COMMUNICATIONS PROFESSIONALS, SOLUTIONS FOR HOUSING COMMUNICATIONS, WHICH DREW HOUSING LEADERS IN 2021. NHC PUBLISHES THE MEMBER BRIEF, A WEEKLY POLICY BULLETIN, REACHING OVER 12,000 SUBSCRIBERS. WE ALSO WORK TO DEVELOP HOUSING PROFESSIONALS THROUGH EMERGING LEADERS IN AFFORDABLE HOUSING.


RESEARCH: NHC'S RESEARCH DIVISION PRODUCES NHC'S HALLMARK PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK ONLINE DATABASE WHICH WAS UPDATED IN 2021 TO INCLUDE DATA ON 147 OCCUPATIONS ACROSS 390 METRO AREAS.
