PLAY AND PLAYWORK: AS THE FISCAL SPONSOR OF THE "JUST PLAY PROJECT" ALLIANCE FOR CHILDHOOD ADMINISTERS MODEL PROGRAMS FOR REPLICATION OFFERING AFTER SCHOOL AND SUMMER CHILD-DIRECTED, LOOSE PARTS PLAY PROGRAMS. TO MEMORIALIZE ALLIANCE FOR CHILDHOOD CO-FOUNDER AND LONG TIME EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, JOAN ALMON, WHO DIED IN JULY 2019, THE JOAN ALMON CHILDHOOD LEGACY FUND WAS ESTABLISHED. THE FIRST SCHOLARSHIP WAS AWARDED TO SUNFLOWER PLAY INITIATIVE, THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH ARM OF SUNFLOWER CREATIVE ARTS, FOR THEIR PROJECT TO SERVE ADOLESCENTS FROM SOUTH FLORIDA'S ECONOMICALLY CHALLENGED, UNDERSERVED OR VULNERABLE AFRICAN-AMERICAN, CARIBBEAN-AMERICAN, AND HISPANIC POPULATIONS. ALLIANCE FOR CHILDHOOD PROMOTES EDUCATIONAL AND ADVOCACY RESOURCES BY PROACTIVELY ENGAGING NEW AUDIENCES THROUGH STRATEGIC SOCIAL MEDIA INITIATIVES. ALLIANCE FOR CHILDHOOD ACTIVELY PROMOTES THE VALUE OF PLAY THROUGH INVOLVEMENT IN NUMEROUS CONFERENCE PANELS, PRESENTATIONS, WORKSHOPS, PROFESSIONAL NETWORKS AND HOSTING EXHIBIT BOOTHS AT EVENTS.ADVOCACY/POLICY: THE ALLIANCE FOR CHILDHOOD ENGAGES IN ADVOCACY FOR INITIATIVES THAT ADVANCE EQUITABLE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ACTIVE, LOOSE PARTS AND ADVENTURE PLAY.
