STEWARDSHIPPROMOTED THE CUIDAGRO (RESPONSIBLE USE) AND CAMPOLIMPIO (CONTAINER MANAGEMENT) PROGRAMS IN 18 COUNTRIES ACROSS THE REGION IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OUR 25 AFFILIATED NATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS. IN 2020, THROUGH OUR PROPOSAL CALL, WE DISBURSED FUNDS TO SOME OF THESE ASSOCIATIONS TO CO-FINANCE PROJECTS WITHIN THE PROGRAMS. OVERALL, OUR NETWORK HAS INVESTED OVER $1.2 MILLION IN CUIDAGRO WITH 240,584 BENEFICIARIES IN 2019. IN ADDITION, THE NETWORK INVESTED $29.2 MILLION FOR THE CAMPOLIMPIO PROGRAM AND RECOVERED OVER 66,063 TONS OF EMPTY, USED, AND TRIPLE RINSED PESTICIDE CONTAINERS FOR PROPER DISPOSAL OR RECYCLING.
PUBLIC RELATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONSCROPLIFE LATIN AMERICA HAS CONTINUED WITH ITS OBJECTIVE OF INFORMING SOCIETY OF THE BENEFITS OF INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY INVESTED BY THE CROP PROTECTION INDUSTRY IN PRODUCTS UTILIZED IN THE PRODUCTION OF FOOD, FIBER AND TO CONTROL ORGANISMS CAPABLE OF TRANSMITTING DISEASE (THROUGH OUR PRESENTATIONS IN MANY EVENTS, OUR MULTIPLE MEDIA PUBLICATIONS, SUCH AS OUR WEB SITE WWW.CROPLIFELA.ORG). WE CONDUCTED OUR 2020 ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL FORUM "SCIENCE COMMITMENT TOWARD THE SUSTAINABLE FOOD PROTECTION" IN BRASILIA, BRAZIL TO SHARE SUCCESS STORIES ON THE REGION'S EXPORT CAPABILITIES WITH KEY STAKEHOLDERS, AND OUR 25 MEMBERS ASSOCIATIONS OF OUR NETWORK FROM 18 COUNTRIES IN LATIN AMERICA. WE ALSO EMPHASIZED OUR FARMER FIRST CAMPAIGN WHICH AIMS AT EDUCATING THE CITIES ON THE KEY ROLE FARMERS HAVE IN OUR DAILY LIVES.
REGULATORYTHE CENTRAL AMERICAN REGION IS ONE OF OUR SUBDIVISIONS (ANDEAN AND SOUTHERN CONE) FOR LATIN AMERICA; OUR DIRECTOR THERE WORKS IN COLLABORATION WITH THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS IN EACH OF THE 5 COUNTRIES TO SUPPORT THEM TO BETTER REPRESENT THE INDUSTRY. WE WORKED IN THE SAME AREAS AS IN THE REST OF THE REGION, NAMELY, TO SUPPORT AND MAKE MORE VISIBLE THE STEWARDSHIP PROGRAMS, "CUIDAGRO AND "CAMPOLIMPIO", AND TO IMPROVE THE PUBLIC AND STAKEHOLDERS UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONTRIBUTIONS MADE BY OUR INDUSTRY. IN ADDITION, THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR SUPPORTED LOCAL AUTHORITIES WITH TRAINING AND START OF THE ART TECHNOLOGIES ON THE TECHNICALITIES OF OUR INDUSTRY SO THEY COULD BE MORE EFFECTIVE IN THEIR ROLE TO REGULATE IT.
