PROVIDE PROGRAM INITATIVES THAT ARE DIRECTED TOWARD THE PRIMARY PREVENTION OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT TO FOSTER THE WELL BEING OF THE DISTRICT'S CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES.

PUBLIC AWARENESS - THE TRUST FUND CONDUCTS GENERAL AND TARGETED PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS ON CHILD-WELLBEING ADDRESSING TOPICS ON CHILD SAFETY AND NUTURING. THE TRUST FUND SERVES AS A LEAD AGENCY IN ACTIVITIES TO PROMOTE NATIONAL PARENT LEADERSHIP MONTH (FEBRUARY) AND FAMILY STRENGTHENING MONTH (APRIL).THE TRUST FUND PARTNERS WITH THE DC PRIMARY NETWORK TO PLAN A SERIES OF EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES DURING APRIL. EACH YEAR ATHEME IS DEVELOPED AND ADVERTISED ACROSS THE CITY.


PARENT EDUCATION - THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE EFFECTIVE BLACK PARENT PROGRAM, LOS NINOS BIEN EDUCADOS PROGRAM, AND THE NEW CONFIDENT PARENT EDUCATION PROGRAM. THE TRUST FUND'S EXPERT TRAINERS TRAIN AND CERTIFY INSTRUCTORS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO EDUCATE PARENTS USING ONE OF THE CURRICULUM MODELS IN THEIR LOCAL AREAS.


PARENT SUPPORT - THE TRUST FUND LEADS A NETWORK OF ORGANIZATIONS THAT OFFER PARENT SUPPORT GROUPS THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. THE TRUST FUND ESTABLISHED PARENT SUPPORT GROUPS WITH ORGAZNIZATIONS THAT FOLLOW THE PARENT ANONYMMOUS@MODEL IN WHICH GROUPS ARE EMBEDDED IN THE COMMUNITY. THE TRUST FUND MANAGES THE NETWORK THROUGH FORGING A PARTNERSHIP WITH SELECTED COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO HOUSE AND OPERATE THE GROUPS. THE TRUST FUND PROVIDES TRAINING AND TECHINCAL ASSISTANCE TO THESE ORGANIZATIONS.
