THE ORGANIZATION IS DEVOTED TO BRINGING ROWING OPPORTUNITIES TO THE NATION'S CAPITAL.THE ORGANIZATION STRIVES TO BRING ROWING TO HIGH AND JR. HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS IN DC, MD, AND VA. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING THAT WOULD NOT BE AFFORDABLE OR AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS.

MASTERS (ADULT) ROWING:CAPITAL PROVIDES SWEEP AND SCULLING ROWING EDUCATION AND TRAINING TO THE PUBLIC THROUGH A VARIETY OF COACH-LED OPPORTUNITIES. WE MAINTAIN A FLEET OF APPROXIMATELY 50 SWEEP AND SCULLING BOATS TO SERVE 350 INDIVIDUALS ANNUALLY. MEMBERS CAN COMPETE IN LOCAL AND NATIONAL REGATTAS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, WITH AN AVERAGE OF 150 MEMBERS COMPETING OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR.

YOUTH/JUNIORS ROWING:CAPITAL JUNIORS IS A COMPETITIVE ROWING PROGRAM IN WASHINGTON, D.C., WHICH DEVELOPS MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS' DISCIPLINE, FITNESS, CAMARADERIE, AND COMMUNITY STEWARDSHIP. BY ADVANCING THE SPORT OF ROWING AND PROVIDING COMPREHENSIVE ACADEMIC SUPPORT, CAPITAL JUNIORS ROWING EMPOWERS APPROXIMATELY 150 DC-AREA YOUTH ANNUALLY-ESPECIALLY THOSE FROM WARDS 6, 7, AND 8 TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL AS ATHLETES AND STUDENTS.


CAPITAL ADAPTIVE ROWING:THROUGH COMMUNITY-BASED ROWING PROGRAMS, CAPITAL ADAPTIVE ROWING PROGRAM (CARP) INTRODUCES THE SPORT OF ROWING, TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES INCLUDING SPINAL CORD INJURIES, AMPUTATIONS, AND VISUAL AND COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENTS. CAPITAL ADAPTIVE WORKS CLOSELY WITH US ROWING FREEDOM ROWS, THE UNITED STATES OLYMPIC COMMITTEE PARALYMPIC SPORT PROGRAM, AND OTHER LOCAL AND NATIONAL ADAPTIVE CLUBS TO PROMOTE ACCESS TO, KNOWLEDGE OF, AND VISIBILITY AND PARTICIPATION IN ADAPTIVE ROWING. PARTICIPANTS INCLUDE CIVILIANS AS WELL AS ACTIVE-DUTY MILITARY AND VETERANS WITH A VARIETY OF ABILITIES. CARP IS PROUD TO TRAIN ATHLETES ON AND OFF THE WATER TO EXPERIENCE THE REHABILITATIVE BENEFITS OF ROWING.
