HEAV OPERATES FROM A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW AND 1) PROVIDES ENCOURAGEMENT, SUPPORT AND INFORMATION TO PARENTS AND SUPPORT GROUP LEADERS ON HOME EDUCATION, THE VIRGINIA LAW, PENDING LEGISLATION AND COURT CASES; 2) WORKS TO PROTECT THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS OF PARENTS TO TEACH THEIR CHILDREN AT HOME THROUGH LEGISLATIVE INITIATIVES AND CONTACT WITH THE LEGISLATORS; AND 3) INFORMS THE PUBLIC, EDUCATORS, AND LEGISLATORS ON THE BENEFITS AND CONSTITUTIONALITY OF HOME EDUCATION.

HOMESCHOOL SUPPORT/OUTREACH: PROVIDES MATERIALS, COUNSELING, SUPPORT AND FIELD TRIP OPPORTUNITIES TO MEMBERS AND HOMESCHOOL FAMILIES; PROVIDES REPRESENTATION WITH COLLEGES, UNIVERSITIES, LIBRARIES AND MUSEUMS.
