CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION - THE PURPOSE OF THE COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN APTR AND THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION (CDC) IS TO ASSIST THIS AGENCY TO ACHIEVE THE NATION'S PUBLIC HEALTH GOALS. THE AGREEMENT FOCUSES ON THE FOLLOWING GOALS: IMPROVING THE INTERACTION BETWEEN PUBLIC HEALTH ACADEMICIANS AND PRACTITIONERS AND ENHANCING THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF PUBLIC HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, PREVENTIVE MEDICINE SPECIALISTS AND PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIANS.
MEMBER SERVICES - APTR'S MEMBER SERVICES PROGRAMS PROVIDE THE RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS TO INTERACT AND EXCHANGE INFORMATION TO ENHANCE PREVENTION EDUCATION AND RESEARCH. TOWARDS THIS GOAL, APTR HOSTS AN ANNUAL MEETING THAT FOCUSES ON THE TEACHING OF PREVENTION; IT PUBLISHES PRINT AND ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTERS AND, IN COLLABORATION WITH A SISTER ORGANIZATION, A PEER-REVIEWED JOURNAL; AND IT PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR ITS MEMBERS TO JOIN ITS FEDERAL PARTNERS IN ACHIEVING HEALTH RESERACH AND POLICY GOALS.
AGENCY FOR HEALTHCARE RESEARCH AND QUALITY APTR WORKS WITH THE AGENCY FOR HEALTHCARE RESEARCH AND QUALITY (AHRQ) THROUGH A CONTRACT AGREEMENT TO RE-ESTABLISH A PREVENTIVE MEDICINE AND PRIMACY CARE RESIDENCY ROTATION PROGRAM TO ASSIST IN PROVIDING SCIENTIFIC AND DISSEMINATION SUPPORT TO THE U.S. PREVENTIVE SERVICES TASK FORCE.
