RAISING FUNDS TO ALLOCATE TO PARTICIPATING MEMBERS AND OTHER DESIGNATED AGENCIES.
UWSMC HAS PARTNERED WITH SOUTHERN MARYLAND FOOD BANK TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE SNACK SAK PROGRAM. THE SOUTHERN MARYLAND FOOD BANK IS A PROGRAM OF THE CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF WASHINGTON. THE MISSION OF THE SNACK SAK PROGRAM IS TO FILL THE GAP OF HUNGER DURING WEEKENDS, WHEN OTHER RESOURCES LIKE FREE OR REDUCED BREAKFAST AND LUNCH PROGRAMS, ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES READY TO EAT, KID FRIENDLY, NUTRITIOUS SNACKS IN AN UNMARKED BAG. THE PROGRAM IS FREE TO THE SCHOOL AND THE STUDENTS SELECTED TO RECEIVE THE SNACK SAKS.
