THE MISSION OF ACAD IS TO PROVIDE ACADEMIC LEADERS WHO SHARE A COMMITMENT TO STUDENT LEARNING AND TO THE IDEALS OF LIBERAL EDUCATION WITH NETWORKING AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND TO SUPPORT THEM IN THEIR WORK AS EDUCATIONAL LEADERS.

MEETINGS AND OTHER PROGRAMMING: ACAD MEETINGS AND OTHER PROGRAMMING FOCUS ON PROVIDING ACADEMIC LEADERS WITH THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO IMPLEMENT STRATEGIC INITIATIVES ON THEIR CAMPUSES. ACAD PROVIDES CONTENT FOR GENERAL SESSIONS, WORKSHOPS AND A DEANS INSTITUTE. ATTENDANCE HAS INCREASED EACH YEAR AND OUR WORKSHOPS AND INSTITUTE FREQUENTLY SELL OUT.
MEMBERSHIP: THE ACAD MEMBERSHIP IS MADE UP OF OVER 800 INDIVIDUAL ACADEMIC LEADERS FROM MORE THAN 500 COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES IN THE UNITED STATES AND ABROAD. ACAD MEMBERS ARE CURRENT AND FORMER DEANS, PROVOSTS, ACADEMIC VICE PRESIDENTS, ASSOCIATE AND ASSISTANT DEANS, AND OTHER ACADEMIC LEADERS. ACAD MEMBERS ARE ALSO CHARACTERIZED BY THEIR COMMITMENT TO THE IDEALS OF A LIBERAL EDUCATION AND ACAD FOCUSES ITS EFFORTS ON SUPPORTING LEADERS IN THEIR WORK BY PROVIDING RESOURCES, NETWORKING, AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES AMONG OTHER MEMBER BENEFITS.
CAREER CENTER: THE CENTER IS FOCUSED ON OUR MISSION OF PROVIDING RESOURCES TO OUR MEMBERSHIP AND OTHERS IN THE FIELD. FOR OUR MEMBERS, IT ALLOWS USERS TO ENGAGE IN JOB SEARCHES, RESEARCH ON HIRING/SEARCH PROCESS, UPLOAD THEIR RESUME AND MUCH MORE. OUR CAREER CENTER IS A LAUNCHING PAD FOR FUTURE PROGRAMMING AS PART OF THE ACAD STRATEGIC PLAN INCLUDING PLANS FOR A MEMBERS-ONLY CAREER MENTOR SERVICE - A WAY TO CONNECT OUR MEMBERS WITH A MENTOR TO HELP THEM NAVIGATE THE SEARCH PROCESS.
