THE PURPOSE OF THE AMERICAN LEGION IS TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF VETERANS OF ALL WARS, THEIR WIDOWS, AND DEPENDENT CHILDREN. THE AMERICAN LEGION IN CHEVERLY MARYLAND CONTINUED TO HELP OUR VETERANS AND THE YOUTH OF OUR AREA. WE SPONSOR THE BOY SCOUTS AND THE CUB SCOUTS AND ALLOW THEM TO USE OUR BUILDING FREE OF CHARGE. WE ALSO WORK WITH NUMEROUS CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS TO MAKE OUR COMMUNITY STRONGER AND MORE PATRIOTIC. WE CONTRIBUTED TO THE LOCAL CHURCH SAINT AMBROSE AND SPONSORED BOYS TO THE AMERICAN LEGION BOY'S STATE IN MARYLAND AND BOY'S NATION.
PROGRAMS FOR OUR BOY SCOUTS AND CUB SCOUTS ALONG WITH AMERICANISM PROGRAMS FOR THE COMMUNITY. THIS INCLUDES ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THE SCOUTS BLUE AND GOLD, PINE WOOD DERBY, AMERICAN FLAGS, CEREMONIES FOR VETERAN'S DAY AND MEMORIAL DAY ETC. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE THE USE OF THE AMERICAN LEGION BUILDING (WHICH WE PAY ALL UTILITIES, MAINTENANCE, AND VOLUNTEERS FOR CLEAN-UP).
THE PURPOSE OF THE AMERICAN LEGION IS TO SERVE THE NEEDS OF VETERANS OF ALL WARS, THEIR WIDOWS, AND DEPENDENT CHILDREN. THE AMERICAN LEGION IN CHEVERLY MARYLAND CONTINUED TO HELP OUR VETERANS AND THE YOUTH OF OUR AREA. THE THIRD SIGNIFICANT PROGRAM IS "REHABILITATION" - WHICH INCLUDES HELPING VETERAN'S WHEN THERE IS AN EMERGENCY SUCH AS NOT ABLE TO PAY THEIR UTILITY BILLS. INCLUDED IN THIS AMOUNT IS COST FOR MEMBERSHIP WE SEND TO NATIONAL AND DEPARTMENT, AS WELL AS WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA TO HONOR OUR VETERANS CEMETERY'S.
