THE BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE RESCUE SQUAD IS A PHILANTHROPICALLY OPERATED ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES STATE OF THE ART EMERGENCY MEDICAL, FIRE, AND RESCUE SERVICES TO THE BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE AREA AND SURROUNDING MARYLAND COMMUNITIES.

BCCRS RESPONDED TO APPROXIMATELY OVER 7,701 CALLS FOR ASSISTANCE IN FY 2022. THE BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE RESCUE SQUAD IS AN ALL-HAZARD FIRE AND RESCUE ORGANIZATION RESPONDING TO STRUCTURAL FIRE, VEHICLE CRASH, TECHNICAL RESCUE AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL INCIDENTS ACROSS SOUTHERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MARYLAND. ONE OF TWO VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANIES IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY DEDICATED TO OPERATING HEAVY RESCUE SQUAD AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE UNITS, THE BCCRS OPERATES AS AN INTEGRAL COMPONENT OF MONTGOMERY COUNTY FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES. THE BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE RESCUE SQUAD HAS MORE THAN 150 PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED VOLUNTEERS AND 28 PAID EMERGENCY RESPONSE PERSONNEL WHO RESPOND TO INCIDENTS DURING REGULARLY SCHEDULED EVENING, NIGHT, AND WEEKEND DUTY SHIFTS. ON WEEKDAYS, UNITS ARE STAFFED WITH BCCRS EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, ONE MONTGOMERY COUNTY FIRE RESCUE PARAMEDIC. THIS STAFFING STRATEGY ENSURES THAT PERSONNEL ARE READY TO RESPOND TO EMERGENCIES 24 HOURS A DAY, SEVEN DAYS A WEEK. OUR FLEET INCLUDES 7 AMBULANCES, 2 HEAVY RESCUE SQUADS, AND VARIOUS COMMAND AND UTILITY VEHICLES.
