EDUCATIONAL ENRICHMENT - STUDENTS RECEIVE ACADEMIC LESSONS FROM A LICENSED TEACHER AND TUTORING SUPPORT FROM OVER A DOZEN UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA STUDENT MENTORS. STUDENTS RECEIVED 75 MINUTES OF ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT AND HOMEWORK TIME EACH DAY OF PROGRAMMING. ACADEMIC LESSONS FOCUS ON LITERACY DEVELOPMENT AND SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, AND LEADERSHIP SKILL DEVELOPMENT. STUDENTS RECEIVE PRIMARILY HOMEWORK SUPPORT FROM UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA STUDENT MENTORS.


HEALTH AND WELLNESS - STUDENTS RECEIVE COACHING AND HEALTH AND WELLNESS TRAINING THROUGH THE RACQUET SPORT OF SQUASH. A SQUASH PROGRAM DIRECTOR AND COACH DESIGN EACH 75-MINUTE COACHING SESSION WITH THE SUPPORT OF SEVERAL BEYOND WALLS STUDENT ALUMNI COACHES AND COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER SQUASH PLAYERS. STUDENTS LEARN THE BASIC SKILLS AND TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF THE SPORT ALONGSIDE TEACHING AND TRAINING BEHIND PHYSICAL WELLNESS AND WELL-BEING. SELECTED STUDENTS RECEIVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRAVEL CROSS COUNTRY TO SQUASH TOURNAMENTS TWO TIMES PER YEAR.
