THE MISSION OF THE SEAMEN'S CENTER OF WILMINGTON, INC., IS TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SEAFARERS WHO VISIT THE PORTS IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE. THE GOAL IS TO MAKE THEIR TIME IN PORT A REWARDING ONE BY PROVIDING PERSONAL, PRACTICAL AND SPIRITUAL ASSISTANCE. A WARM WELCOME IS EXTENDED TO EASE THE PAIN OF LONELINESS AND ISOLATION AND TO OFFER A RESPITE FROM THE HAZARDS OF THE SEA.

Part 3 - Line 4a

PROVIDE SEAFARERS WITH NEEDED HUMAN SERVICES SUCH AS TWIC ESCORT AND TRANSPORTATION, TELEPHONE COMMUNICATION, CLOTHING AND SUPPLIES WHILE THEY ARE VISITING THE PORT OF WILMINGTON. 1. ASSISTED 313 VESSELS CALLING ON DELAWARE'S 3 PORTS;2. SAFELY WELCOMING 2452 SEAFARERS TO THE CENTER;3. TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED TO 4631 SEAFARERS; 4. SHIP VISITS - WERE CONTINUED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE FISCAL YEAR. DELIVERING WELCOME PACKAGES TO NEW SHIPS AND RETURN CALLERS WITH DONATED ITEMS SUCH AS: PUZZLES, DVDS, PLAYING CARDS, CDS, ETC. SCW CONTINUES PERSONAL SHOPPING TRIPS AS CREW DEAL WITH EXPIRED VISAS; 5. CONTINUING TO BE A SAFE AND SECURE LOCATION FOR SEAFARERS TO SHIP AND RECEIVE PACKAGES;6. CONTINUING TO REUNITE FAMILIES;7. CHRISTMAS AT SEA- 1,025 DITTY BOXES WERE DELIVERED.
