TO SUPPORT OLDER ADULTS AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES TO LIVE WITH DIGNITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THEIR OWN PERSONAL CHOICE.

SENIOR SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PROGRAM:WE PROVIDED 8,290 CHECKING, INFORMATION CONTACTS, AND REFERRALS, AND 1,873 HOURS OF CARE COORDINATION AND TRANSITION SERVICES TO SENIORS, TO ENSURE THEY RECEIVE THE ASSISTANCE NEEDED TO REMAIN IN THEIR OWN HOMES. WE PROVIDED CAREGIVER TRAINING, OPTIONS COUNSELING, INSURANCE COUNSELING, VACCINE ACCESS SERVICES, AND PERSONAL CARE SERVICES. WE ALSO PROVIDED ELDER ABUSE PREVENTION SERVICES, INCLUDING ADVOCACY AND OMBUDSMAN ACTIVITIES AS WELL AS LONG-TERM CARE FACILITY MEDIATION SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY AND THEIR FAMILIES. WE TRANSPORTED SENIORS, WHO HAD NO OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION, TO AND FROM DOCTORS, DENTISTS, MEDICAL TREATMENT FACILITIES, BANKS, GROCERS, AND OTHER DESTINATIONS.
CONGREGATE AND HOME DELIVERED NUTRITIOUS MEALS PROGRAM:DURING THE CURRENT YEAR, INDIVIDUALS WERE PROVIDED WITH 106,233 NUTRITIONALLY BALANCED MEALS. ALL MEALS MET ONE-THIRD OF THE RECOMMENDED DIETARY ALLOWANCE (RDA). MEALS WERE HOME DELIVERED OR PROVIDED AT A NUTRITION EDUCATION SITE. INDIVIDUALS ATTENDING A NUTRITION EDUCATION SITE WERE PROVIDED TRANSPORTATION, HEALTH AND NUTRITION EDUCATION, HEALTH SCREENINGS AND RECREATION.
WEATHERIZATION AND LOW-INCOME HOUSING ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM:THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST SENIORS IN MAKING THEIR SITE-BUILT OR MOBILE HOMES MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT, THEREBY REDUCING THEIR HEATING AND COOLING COSTS, AND ENABLING THEM TO LIVE MORE COMFORTABLY. ASSISTANCE PROVIDED INCLUDED INSULATION OF HOMES; REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF FURNACES; AND SEALING DUCTWORK, WINDOWS, AND DOORS. DURING THE CURRENT YEAR, 82 HOMES WERE WEATHERIZED AND/OR REPAIRED THROUGH THIS PROGRAM.
SANTA TO A SENIOR PROGRAM: EACH YEAR, CVACL PARTNERS WITH HOME INSTEAD SENIOR CARE FOR ITS "BE A SANTA TO A SENIOR" PROGRAM THROUGH SOLICITING DONATED GIFTS. CVACL COORDINATED FOR AND DELIVERED 335 GIFTS TO OLDER ADULTS IN OUR AREA.
