NDSC RESOURCE CENTER - NDSC CONTINUES ITS OUTREACH TO UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS, EXPANDING ITS CONTACT WITH HISPANIC, AFRICAN AMERICAN, AND MIDDLE EASTERN FAMILIES. NDSC ALSO HAS A GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS FUNCTION, WHICH INCLUDES A REPRESENTATIVE IN WASHINGTON, D.C., WHO INFORMS THE MEMBERSHIP OF CURRENT LEGISLATIVE INITIATIVES REGARDING DOWN SYNDROME AND RELATED TOPICS. NDSC ALSO HAS AN AWARENESS CAMPAIGN WHEREBY IT PRINTS ADVERTISEMENTS AND PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUCEMENTS BROADCASTED TO BRING AWARENESS TO THE DISPARITIES THAT PEOPLE WITH DOWN SYNDROME FACE IN EDUCATION, THE WORK FORCE AND THE GENERAL COMMUNITY.
