BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING AND SUMMER CAMPS WERE PROVIDED BY GIRLS INC OF DELAWARE IN 2021 AT THE WILMINGTON LOCATION. PROGRAMMING INCLUDED A FEW OF THE FOLLOWING FOCUS AREAS: STEM (SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING MATH), PROJECT BOLD, AND FRIENDLY PEERSUASION. THESE AREAS OF FOCUS ARE A PART OF THE CURRICULUM FROM THE NATIONAL GIRLS INC. MODEL FOR GIRLS AGES 6 TO 12. ALL PROGRAMMING IS PROVIDED IN A PRO-GIRL ENVIRONMENT WHICH ENCOURAGES TO LEARN FROM ONE ANOTHER AND GROW TOGETHER.
CYBER LEARNING ACADEMY ENABLES GIRLS TO ATTEND ONLINE SCHOOL WHILE IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT WHILE SINGLE PARENTS WORK. THE CLA HELPS GIRLS TO PUSH BEYOND GENDER STEREOTYPES TO ESTABLISH GOALS AND BUILD SELF-CONFIDENCE; DISCOVER THEIR CAPABILITIES; LEARN SKILLS THAT BROADEN THEIR EXPERIENCE AND IMPROVE THEIR UNDERSTANDING; AND DEVELOP POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH ADULT ROLE MODELS AND PEERS. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE ACADEMIC SUPPORT, HANDS-ON EXPLORATION OF STEM SUBJECTS, FINANCIAL LITERACY, PREGNANCY PREVENTION, DRUG/ALCOHOL RESISTANCE, ANTI-BULLYING, LEADERSHIP AND ARTS/CULTURE EXPLORATION. SERVICES WERE PROVIDED IN MANY DIFFERENT SETTINGS DURING THE SCHOOL DAY/AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS.
CENTER AND COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMMING PROVIDES GIRLS AGES 6-18 ACCESS TO THE "GIRLS INC. EXPERIENCE' PROGRAMMING OFFERED IN THE CENTER AND THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY THROUGH VARIOUS COLLABORATIVE SPACES IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE.
