THEY PROVIDE A BROAD RANGE OF SERVICES TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES WITH MAJOR EFFORTS CONCENTRATED ON VOCATIONAL (EMPLOYMENT) AND RESIDENTIAL OPTIONS, AS WELL AS PERSONAL SUPPORT SERVICES. FACILITIES ARE LOCATED IN SALINE, MITCHELL, DICKINSON AND CLOUD COUNTY, KANSAS.

RESIDENTIAL SERVICES PROVIDE SUPPORT AND TRAINING FOR MOST INDEPENDENT LIVING NEEDS AND ENCOURAGES THE USE OF SERVICES THAT ARE ALREADY AVAILABLE IN THE COMMUNITY. OCCK, INC. PROVIDES OR COORDINATES LIVING ARRANGEMENTS FOR PERSONS WITH MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES. VOCATIONAL SERVICES PROVIDE TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES. THESE OPPORTUNITIES ARE DIRECTED TOWARD ACHIEVING WORK SKILLS THAT WILL BE HELPFUL IN GETTING JOBS & SUCCEEDING IN THE WORKPLACE. PERSONAL SUPPORT SERVICES ARE INDIVIDUALIZED BASED ON WHAT PEOPLE NEED TO PARTICIPATE SUCCESSFULLY IN THEIR HOME COMMUNITY. OCCK, INC. OFFERS TRAINERS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR EACH PERSON TO GAIN SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE TO INCREASINGLY USE & BENEFIT FROM RESOURCES AVAILABLE IN THE COMMUNITY IN WHICH THE PERSON LIVES. THESE ARE NON-RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES THAT ARE STAFFED BY PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. INDEPENDENT LIVING SPECIALISTS WORK NOT ONLY WITH INDIVIDUALS OF ALL AGES AND ALL DISABILITIES, BUT ALSO WITH THEIR COMMUNITIES TO LOCATE SERVICES AND ELIMINATE PHYSICAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL BARRIERS SO THAT LIVING INDEPENDENTLY IS A REALITY FOR ALL PEOPLE. STAFF PROVIDES INFORMATION AND SUPPORT TO BUSINESSES, SCHOOLS, AND GOVERNMENT SERVICES AS THEY DEVELOP ACCESSIBLE COMMUNITIES FOR EVERYONE. SPECIFIC SERVICES OFFERED INCLUDE: SELF-ADVOCACY TRAINING, INDIVIDUAL ADVOCACY, INFORMATION & REFERRAL, LANGUAGE INTERPRETING, TRAINING, AND SUPPORT FOR THOSE WITH TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, SERVICE CORRDINATION/CASE MANAGEMENT FOR PEOPLE USING HOME AND COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES (HCBS) MEDICAID WAIVER, SELF-DIRECTED PERSONAL ASSISTANT PAYROLL SERVICE, COMMUNITY AND SYSTEM ADVOCACY, ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION, AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION.
